British-Pakistani boxer Amir Khan has said that he felt ‘at peace in Pakistan following issues within the family.

Amir and his wife, Faryal Makhdoom, split in a bitter public row on Twitter earlier this month, which appears to be getting only uglier with time. According to a solicitor, Faryal, who announced a week ago she is expecting the estranged couple’s second baby in February, could be set to get half of the wealth of the British-Pakistani boxer in divorce proceedings.

Amir could also potentially lose custody of his daughter Lamaisah as well as their upcoming baby – meaning he could also be hit with child support. Speaking about Super Boxing League, Amir said that the league will feature teams from eight cities, with one female boxer in each. He said that he wishes the boxing league to start from Lahore.

He made a formal announcement of his upcoming boxing league in the country, saying that it would be open to female boxers of Pakistan. He said that he took the idea from his partner in India who started a similar league. “If India can host boxing [tournaments] then Pakistan has more talent for the sport. Want to do this for Pakistan and want to promote boxing in Pakistan,” the British Pakistani boxer added.

The British Pakistani boxer said that his next fight will be held on December 08. Paying tribute to the Pakistan Army, he said that it has been making the country safe. The internationally acclaimed boxer, however, said that he has never shown interest in politics. Moreover, he said that his boxing academy in Pakistan would be established in Lahore.
