— ‘There is a dire need to maintain complete unity in our ranks’
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Engr Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that as a nation we have to carry special responsibilities of maintaining security and stability of the country.
Keeping in view the crucial role, every citizen is required to make numerous efforts for this purpose. “There is a dire need to maintain complete unity and cohesion in our ranks at all levels and to refresh our commitment for sparing no efforts for development and prosperity of the country,” he said during a statement on the eve of Eidul Azha.
He said, “Eidul Azha is the sacred festival of Islam. It is observed to honour the exemplary spirit and act of submission and sacrifice presented by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and his son, Hazrat Ismail (AS) at the will of Allah. On this auspicious occasion, I felicitate my countrymen especially the people of KP and FATA.”
He added that he also had the privilege to remind everyone that rejuvenating this sacred occasion, in accordance with the teachings of Islam, carries a very comprehensive and philosophical message for all the faithful about upholding the sanctity of rights of fellow human beings. “It indeed reflects and refers to a rich treasure of Islamic heritage,” he further said.
“I especially wish Eid Mubarak to the near and dear ones of all the martyrs, who sacrificed their present for ensuring a better future for all of us. I appeal the countrymen that, while celebrating festivities of the Eid days with family members, also take care of the families of the martyrs,” he said.
“The noble gestures in shape of sharing festivities of this Eid should not be restricted to the festival’s days only; rather they should fully influence our routine social and civic lives,” he said. The governor added that we as a nation have to shoulder special responsibilities of maintaining security and stability of our beloved country.
