KARACHI: Police killed two alleged robbers during an encounter in Lyari area of the city in the wee hours of Thursday.
According to rescue sources, two robbers, Irfan, aged 25 and Qasim, aged 30, were looting people at gunpoint in Lyari area, when police reached the scene. The robbers opened fire on the police team which retaliated.
During the exchange of fire, the robbers suffered bullet injuries and died on the spot. They were stated to be involved in bank robberies as well. The police also recovered a 2 TT pistols, bullets and motorbike from the spot.
The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.
