LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairperson Dr Tahirul Qadri reached Lahore on Thursday morning after a brief stay in London.
Speaking to reporters at the Allama Iqbal International Airport, Qadri said that in accordance with the NAB Ordinance, NAB cases against the Sharif family should be heard on a daily basis and their decision should come within a month.
Qadri said that leaders are using police for their own interest and work, adding that institutions don’t hold power to give justice to the poor segment of society.
“It is difficult for a common man to get a clean chit from NAB but despite being served three notices, the Sharif family didn’t appear before investigators,” he said.
Qadri reiterated his demand to make the Model Town massacre report public.
Earlier, the Lahore High Court (LHC) summoned a response from the government by September 12 on a petition filed for the release of a judicial enquiry report conducted by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi into the killings of at least 14 PAT workers in 2014. The petition has been filed by the families of the victims.
