Two Afghan bodyguards killed outside MP’s house

Two bodyguards belonging to MP Zahir Qadir have been killed in an attack on the MP’s house in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, early on Wednesday morning, according to ToloNews

The attack began at about 10.30am, eyewitnesses said.

According to the provincial governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khoghyani, the bodyguards were first shot and then a suicide bomber detonated his explosives outside Qadir’s house.

However, a second suicide bomber was gunned down by Qadir’s bodyguards, according to Khoghyani.

He said the situation is now under control but the area has been cordoned off.
