PML-N leader Arbab Khizar Hayat Khan on Tuesday demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Pervez Khattak over alleged failure of his government to tackle the serious issue of dengue outbreak in the province and loss of precious lives mostly in Peshawar due to this mosquito-borne disease.
“I demand from KP CM to accept failure of his government in controlling dengue outbreak in the province and immediately step-down,” Khizar said in a press statement issued here.
He said the PTI government has failed to control dengue virus in Khyber Pakthunkhwa and held Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and Health Minister Shahram Tarkai responsible for its outbreak besides the loss of precious lives.
Khizar Hayat Khan said he had submitted an application in Tehkal police station seeking registration of FIR against KP chief minister and provincial health minister and demanded immediate action against them.
He said about 15 people fell prey to dengue virus in the most affected Tehkal area of Peshawar besides thousands others were affected in KP that was a big question mark on the PTI government’s ability to tackle this disease.
Khizar alleged that PTI government has no concerns with people’s grievances and that was why dengue gripped the entire KP, creating fear and panic among masses besides putting lives of people in jeopardy.
The PTI government, he said, had not taken serious notice of dengue outbreak in Peshawar unless arrival of Punjab government’s teams for provision of speedy treatment to patients.
Owing to high increase in number of patients at hospitals especially in Peshawar, he said, the fresh victims of dengue were being refused admission due to lack of space in public sector hospitals, further aggravating their miseries.
Khizar said it was unfortunate that PTI Chairman Imran Khan did not have any time to even visit Peshawar to express sympathies with the victims of dengue where people were dying of this deadly epidemic.
