ISLAMABAD: The online sale of sacrificial animals has attracted buyers as a majority of the youngsters are relying on ‘Online Bakra Mandi’ to place orders for the sacrificial animals ahead of Eidul Azha.
According to a report aired by a private news channel, getting animals for Eid delivered to the doorsteps was becoming a new trend among citizens specially youngsters who wish to avoid the hassle of transportation.
Several billboards in different cities are also offering online sale of sacrificial animals, indicating addresses of their websites.
A citizen said that there is an abundance of gadgets available at homes, and people want to use them to make their lives easier.
He said that the trend of online buying of sacrificial animals was growing, which reminded the fact that the country is moving towards a rapid growing technology.
The traditional dealers are desperately waiting for the customers in the makeshift markets as the influx of new trends, and extra ordinary high rates of sacrificial animals, disappointed the potential customers, said a student Javed Usman.
The online markets are providing photos, videos, voices and other description, including types and prices of the goats and other sacrificial animals, on the internet which are helping the customers to make their choice.
A resident added that the trend of online buying on Eid had became popular on the ground that the customers who buy the animal through a website could get the facility of paying the price of animals on the basis of their weights.
“While in traditional markets, the customers are seen haggling over prices of sacrificial animals as the animal dealers’ demand ten times higher prices,” he added.
Similarly, in order to facilitate the customers, different organisations started new services like ‘Bakra on Wheels’ for their customers, and also offering Online Kasai (Butcher) to their valuable customers on Eidul Azha.
In the online gallery the animals’ details like weight, teeth, age, photo, price and its ‘name’ are displayed separately to help the customer choose the animal of their choice.
The citizens say that they prefer to pay a little more charges than haggling over the prices with illiterate cattle dealers.
