Indian DHC summoned after ceasefire violation

LAHORE: South Asia and SAARC Director General Dr Mohammad Faisal, has summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner (DHC) JP Singh and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces in Rawalakot Sector on August 27, 2017, which has resulted in the martyrdom of 3 civilians including a woman, and injuries to 2 others of a family in Fatehpur village when their house was directly hit by Indian mortar.

So far in 2017, there have been more than 600 ceasefire violations along the Line of Control, resulting in deaths of 28 civilians and injuries to 113; in 2016 there 382 such violations.

The director general urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire arrangement. Investigate the incidents of ceasefire violations, instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, maintain peace on the LoC, he said.
