LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Special Education, Khawaja Muhammad Shafique, has said that the provincial government is striving to build a society based on the principles of social & economic justice. He expressed these views while addressing 13th, 14th and 15th balloting of Amanat Scheme under the aegis of Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) at 90 Shahra-e-Quaid-e-Azam on Monday.

As part of our ambitious growth and development agenda, we are investing in the socioeconomic capital of the province, he said, adding that in doing so, our aim is to attain a growth trajectory that brings a qualitative change in the lives of the people especially of the poor & marginalised sector.

Shafique said that he firmly believes that if we are able to capitalise on our endowments which we are richly blessed with, the objectives of a balanced and inclusive growth will definitely be achieved. To achieve these cherished goals, our government observes the highest standards of transparency, economy and efficiency in public spending, he added.

He emphasised that the tax payer’s money is judiciously utilised for the provision of affordable and decent transport projects like Metro Bus Network & the upcoming Orange Train, designing, up-gradation & management of health care services including the establishment of the state-of-the-art specialised hospitals.

He further said that a modern computerised system is being introduced by the Punjab Revenue Authority, making tax receipts system foolproof in order to eliminate tax theft and leakage. While praising the developmental projects in Punjab, the minister paid special emphasis upon areas of southern Punjab.  He strongly rejected the views that southern Punjab is lacking behind Lahore or any other region of Punjab in areas of health and education.
