MUZAFFARABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Assembly, in its session in Muzaffarabad on Monday, adopted a unanimous resolution condemning the US decision of blacklisting Hizbul Mujahideen.
The resolution was tabled by the member of Legislative Assembly Abdul Rasheed Turabi.
The resolution says that Hizbul Mujahideen is an indigenous organisation representing sentiments and aspirations of the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination. The United Nations (UN) Charter has mandated the Kashmiris to struggle for the independence movement through political and diplomatic fronts.
The resolution also condemned US decision to term Syed Sallahudin as a terrorist. The resolution strongly condemned state terrorism by Indian forces in the Occupied Valley and said that the US State Department has adopted a dual policy regarding terrorism.
The House demanded the US government to revise its decision about sanctions on Hizbul Mujahideen and play a decisive role in bringing durable peace in South Asia.
The resolution demanded UN and other international human rights organisations play their role in stopping gross human rights violations and genocide of Kashmiris at the hands of Indian troops.
It was also stressed that UN must take notice of the Indian government who want to repeal article 35-A of its constitution to change the demography of Kashmir. The House termed this step as a conspiracy of the Indian government.
The House reiterated to extend their political, moral and diplomatic support to Kashmiris for their right to self-determination.
