PESHAWAR: A bomb explosion that took place at an under-construction police checkpoint in Umeedabad Saturday night partially damaged the checkpoint, and its walls and gate were ruined.
No casualties were reported since the checkpoint was empty when the bomb exploded.
Approximately 25-30 kilogrammes of explosive material was used in the bomb, the bomb disposal unit — that was called to the site of detonation — explained.
