An alleged “commander” of Islamic State (IS) has been arrested in Turkey’s Eskisehir on Saturday, local media reported.
The 41-year-old Iraqi man, identified only by the initials as C.E.T., was arrested after being apprehended in a police raid on a hotel, according to Hurriyet Daily News.
The suspect reportedly had been in prison in Iraq over a plot to assassinate the country’s former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki.
Over 300 people have lost their lives in IS terrorist attacks in Turkey, and anti-IS investigations are undertaken across the country.
