Sindh IGP announces 100 new vans for police helpline

KARACHI: Police authorities have decided to provide 100 police mobile vans to the police helpline, Madadgar 15, in a bid to improve performance and help the citizens.

Sindh Inspector General Police (IGP) Allah Dino Khawaja announced this on Saturday during a visit to the new building of the helpline established at the premises of the Airport police station. The IG also discussed the ongoing developments and infrastructure for the helpline.

The zonal DIGs, DIG administration and information technology director also attended the meeting.

The DIG administration was directed to provide all necessary equipment, including computers and infrastructure, on a priority basis to Madadgar 15.

“100 new specialised police vans will be provided to Madadgar 15 soon,” he announced.

The vans will only be in use by Madadgar 15 to take timely action on citizens’ complaints, he added.

The names of the zone, district and the police station will also be mentioned on each police mobile van, he said.

“A special Android device will be attached to a van which will be interlinked with the Madadgar 15 centre,” Khawaja said.

“The Android device will help police personnel to timely reach the spot concerned to help the citizens.”

Two heavy generators will also be provided to the Madadgar 15 centre to avoid any inconvenience, announced the IGP.
