With events, store launches and Eid exhibitions happening every other day, we experienced another store launch on Friday night in the city. Republic by Omar Farooq and Republic Womenswear by Sana Omar opened their flagship store at The Madison Square Mall with a large number of personalities attending the event.
Not only that, we have seen that the brand has made a name for itself as one of the finest formal wear brands throughout the country. The menswear included handcrafted suits along with a wide variety of dress shirts and blazers.
Being the pioneer of formal wear in Pakistan, Omar knows how to work his magic with menswear. “I have always been fascinated by art and the process of having individual raw materials turn into something wonderful,” said Omar at the launch event.
“It was because of this fascination that I decided to create something of my own and I chose formal wear because I felt there is a need in the market for it that not many people are catering to,” added Omar. From formal wear to casual wear, we couldn’t get enough of the menswear range at the store, including unstitched suit pieces, and the wide range of kurtas in their eastern wear.
What caught our eye the most was the exquisite bridal collection by Sana. Talking about starting the women’s wear line Sana said, “I started Republic Womenswear to cater to the female clientele who would often ask us as to why we are not doing a womenswear line.” And so, the idea to start this sparked in their minds. Adding to that, Sana said, “Our new store has something for both men and women and we hope we continue to give our best to them.”
As we take a look at the displayed pieces, we were in awe as the detailing and embellishments on each piece were elegant yet charming. From heavily handcrafted embellished peplum tops to long shirts and lehenga’s, this collection seemed to be the highlight of the collections displayed.
Among the media personalities we had the brand ambassadors Alyzeh Gabol and Fawad Khan grace the event with their presence to show support to the duo. We certainly can’t wait to see what the duo has in store for us in the future.
