PML-N set new records of public service: CM

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday said that PML-N had set new records of public service during the last four years as the resources of the nation had been spent on education, health and other social sectors in a transparent manner.

He said that the PML-N government had achieved all targets to a great extent and result-oriented measures had been taken to improve the living standard of poor people.

He expressed these views while talking to parliamentarians from various districts who called on him.

Shehbaz Sharif said that opportunities of standardised education had been provided to children belonging to struggling families and all out measures would be taken to bring about improvement in the living style of the common man.

He said that shortage of resources would not be allowed to become an impediment in the provision of facilities to people.

The chief minister said: “We are proceeding with true sentiments of public service and the responsibility of service to the masses will be discharged efficiently at any cost”.

POTENTIAL UK INVESTMENT IN HEALTH SECTOR REVIEWED:

Further, in a meeting to review potential investment by UK investors in the health sector of Punjab, CM said that improvement in public health facilities was his mission and all out resources were being utilised for this purpose.

He said that every possible support and cooperation would be taken for providing best medical facilities to the common man and proposal by UK investors for setting up a modern hospital and medical college would augur well.

He issued directive for constitution of a committee that would give a final shape to the proposal after holding talks with the British investors.

The Punjab government, he said, was implementing a revolutionary programme for the development of the health sector and provision of best medical facilities to the people of Punjab.

Provincial government had introduced several reforms for the improvement  of health sector and cooperation and investment by British investors would be welcomed in this regard, the CM added.

He said that access to best medical facilities in the hospitals was the right of the people and the government would give this right to them at any cost. He said that the poor was getting the same medicines as were used by the rich in Punjab today, asserting that all out steps were being taken for quality treatment of the patients in the province.

On this occasion, the UK investors said that they were interested in setting up a modern hospital and medical college of UK standards in Lahore and want to work jointly with the Punjab government in health sector.
