The Counter Terrorism Department arrested on Saturday a target killer of Muttahida Quami Movement (London) in a raid at Qasba Colony, Karachi.
Target killer, Irfan alias Mama was involved in several incidents of target killing and attempted murders, according to CTD SSP Omar Shahid. The CTD personnel also recovered a huge cache of arms from his possession.
In a joint operation carried out by police and intelligence agencies in Kotri, fourth accused involved in murder of managing director of the then Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) Shahid Hamid was arrested. Police sources said that arrested accused Mehboob alias Shehzada used code name Athar while carrying out target killing operations and was a close associate of Saulat Mirza.
On the other hand, some unidentified persons opened fire in Defence area of Karachi and wounded a lady doctor. Apart from this, 11 suspects were arrested from various areas of the city. The suspects were involved in target killing, street crimes, theft and drug peddling. In a separate incident, two people including a woman were injured when unknown people opened fire on a car in Defence.
Meanwhile, police also arrested three dacoits in injured condition after an encounter in Korangi area. Police sources said that the dacoits were looting residents. Police also recovered arms and stolen goods from them.
