BAHAWALPUR: In Ahmedpur Sharqia, a woman allegedly poisoned her two daughters after dispute with her husband over poverty issues. One of the girls has died and another was admitted to Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Bahawalpur.
Police sources said that a woman identified as Shaista told her husband Sajjad Hussain that she and their two daughters had been starving for two days and were unable to find a meal.
“Exchange of harsh words was reported between Shaista and her husband who later got out of the house,” police said.
Police further said that the woman allegedly poisoned her two daughters late night and resultantly, one of them died and another was rushed to Bahawal Victoria Hospital. “Seven-year-old Saba had been dead while 10-year-old Muqaddas was rushed to BVH Bahawalpur where doctors provided her with emergency medical treatment”.
According to doctors, the condition of Muqaddas was in danger. The police have been investigating the incident.
