LAHORE: Police have killed four robbers in an alleged encounter on Saturday in the city’s Harbanspura area, while two managed to escape.

The robbers had created a blockade around the area and opened fire at the police when it reached the site on a tip-off.

The robbers were killed in retaliatory fire by police.

Earlier on Wednesday, the robbers had gunned down a man during a robbery and snatched Rs0.2 million from him.

Faisal was en route to the cattle market to buy a sacrificial animal for Eidul Azha when he encountered the two robbers.

Police claim the robbers opened fire at him after the victim resisted the robbery and fled the crime scene immediately with the cash. Faisal died on spot.
