An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday directed Rangers prosecutor to advance arguments on bail application of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Chief Farooq Sattar and Amir Khan on next date of hearing.
The ATC was hearing cases relating to provocative speeches, attack on media houses and other charges against Sattar, Amir Khan and others.
MQM-P Chief Sattar and others MQM leaders including Amir Khan, Qamar Mansoor, Shahid Pasha, Gulfaraz Khattak appeared before the court. During the course of hearing, the court accepted bail application of two accused in the cases, Ashraf Noor and Sabahuddin against the submission of surety bond worth Rs 1 lac each.
Sattar and Amir’s lawyer Shaukat Hayat completed his arguments on the bail application. After hearing arguments of the counsel, the court directed Rangers prosecutor to advance counter arguments on the plea. The court while re-issuing arrest warrant of the absconding accused adjourned further hearing by September 8. Sattar and other MQM leaders and workers have been booked in cases relating to anti-Pakistan speeches of MQM founder Altaf Hussain and raising anti-Pakistan slogans.
