Sources claim that experienced batsman Mohammad Hafeez seems to be in ignored in the Pakistan squad which would face the World XI team during their tour to Pakistan.

The team’s selection committee seems to be more interested in pumping young blood into the team instead of veteran players like Hafeez.

After being ousted from the national squad, sourcs claim that he will be now travelling back to the West Indies to rejoin his Caribbean Premier League team. Hafeez had been summoned earlier during the tournament for fitness tests by order of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)

Hafeez will also be joined by Wahab Riaz in the CPL as he couldn’t manage to make the squad as well and will play for Barbados Tridents for the remaining season.

PCB chairman Najam Sethi announced a star-studded 14-member World XI squad on Thursday. Led by South Africa’s Faf du Plessis, the team will play three T20 matches scheduled for September 12, 13 and 15.

The team features Hashim Amla (South Africa), Samuel Badree (WI), Darren Sammy (WI), George Bailey (Australia), Paul Collingwood (England), Ben Cutting (Australia), Grant Elliott (New Zealand), Tamim Iqbal (Bangladesh), David Miller (South Africa), Morne Morkel (South Africa), Tim Paine (wicketkeeper) (Australia), Thisara Perera (Sri Lanka), Imran Tahir (South Africa).
