Drugs supply in educational institutions: ANF arrests 20 drug peddlers, recover 17kg drugs

In line with the directives of Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) Director General (DG) Maj-Gen Musarrat Nawaz Malik, the ANF on Friday conducted operations against the drug suppliers involved in distribution of drugs among the students of academic institutions.

The ANF has deployed special surveillance teams to surface gangs involved in drug supply at educational institutions and special drive to identify and arrest the elements involved in the drug supply to educational institutions is underway across the country.

During the ongoing special counternarcotics drive, the ANF arrested 20 persons including a lady involved in supply of drugs to the educational institutions and recovered 6.4 Kg drugs worth Rs 7 million in international market. The recovered drugs include 6.3 Kg Hashish and 26 Gram Ice.

The Rawalpindi ANF intercepted a motorcycle near Judicial Colony, Gulzar-e-Quaid, Rawalpindi and arrested three persons identified as Muhammad Shahbaz, Naveed Iqbal and Raja Muhammad Dawar, all residents of Rawalpindi along with 450 gram hashish.

As per reports, they were involved in supply of drugs to the students of Capital University of Science and Technology and Roots School System, Rawalpindi. In another operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested a local drug peddler named Naseer Khan, of Attock while he was riding on a motorcycle near Chawan Meel Chowk, Attock Basal Road, Attock and recovered 250 grams Hashish from his possession. Reportedly, he was also involved in distribution of drugs among the students of different academic institutions.

The ANF Lahore recovered 130 grams hashish from possession of an accused identified as Mazhar Hussain resident of Faisalabad near Sandal College, Millat Road, Faisalabad. As per reports, the accused was involved in supply of drugs to the students of educational institutions.

The ANF Lahore arrested Akram and Muhammad Irfan both resident of Multan who were reportedly involved in drug distribution among the students of Civil Lines College, Multan and recovered 300 gram hashish from their possession.

The ANF Lahore recovered 120 grams hashish from possession of a lady named Razia Bibi resident of Lahore who was arrested near Lahore College of Women University, Jail Road, Lahore.

In eleventh operation, ANF Lahore arrested Muhammad Sajjad resident of Khanewal and Muhammad Asghar resident of Okara, recovering 250 grams hashish from their possession. They were arrested near Girls Hostel, Nishter Medical College, Nishter Road, Multan.

In twelfth operation, ANF Lahore apprehended a local drug peddler namely Kashif Ali resident of Faisalabad, recovering 150 grams hashish from personal possession. He was arrested near Agricultural University, Faisalabad. In thirteenth operation, ANF Lahore recovered 150 grams hashish from personal possession of the accused identified as Nisar Ahmed resident of Lahorewho was arrested near Rizwan Academy Green Town, Lahore.

The ANF Peshawar arrested Yar Muhammad, an Afghan National, Sabir Hussain resident of Jhelum, Amjad Ali resident of Manshera and Maloom Shah, resident of Khyber Agency near Karkhano Market, Peshawar and recovered 26 grams Ice from their possession. As per reports, they were involved in supply of drugs to the students of educational institutions.

The ANF Karachi apprehended Ali Gul Wasan resident of Khairpur who was reportedly involved in distribution of drugs to the students of educational institutions and recovered 3.5 Kg Hashish from his possession.

Separate cases in all incidents have been registered at respective ANF police stations and further investigations are underway.
