UHS denies rumours of MDCAT paper leaking

LAHORE: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has categorically denied and condemned a campaign on social media from some hidden elements with regards to the Medical & Dental Colleges’ Admission Test (MDCAT) 2017, held on Sunday, and has asked the Cyber Crime Wing of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to act against those spreading rumours that the exam leaked.

In a press release issued on Monday, a UHS spokesman said that the news of paper leaking is baseless and is being spread on social media to malign an institution which is known for its valid, reliable and secure systems.

“The fact is that some mischievous elements, after the conclusion of the test on Sunday, retyped and hand-drew a few questions and diagrams of Physics section of the paper and posted [them] on a fake Facebook account […]. The admin of the account gave an impression as if the paper was leaked before the test which is absolutely incorrect. The test concluded at 1200 noon that day whereas the questions were uploaded after more than four hours”, he added. The spokesman said that the objective of the post was to create unrest among the candidates and incite them against the university and the government. He further said that UHS Vice-Chancellor Dr Junaid Sarfraz Khan had written to FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing to thoroughly investigate the matter and bring all those to justice who were involved in this conspiracy. The UHS spokesman said that the involvement of commercial tuition academies cannot be ruled out.

The spokesman advised the candidates, not to lend an ear to these rumour mongers and reject all such concocted stories. UHS would not compromise on its principles of justice, merit, equity and transparency, he concluded.

  1. Even if this is not true it does not make sense.
    Either the test should be taken again aur open merit must be considered on the basis of intermediate and matriculate aggregate.
    We worked hard for the sake of Allah!!!!

    august.After seeing key i am
    doubtful that key of white paper
    has some
    mistake because some of the
    biology mcqs that i remember
    and their
    answer as given in text book are
    marked incorrect option in
    key.Kindly
    recheck the key of respective
    paper

First of all its impossible to remember those questions that appeared in our test … and Secondly let UHS announce the result and if any of the students of ABC academy gets 1000+ marks then the rumours are absolutely true … Because it is impossible for an FSC student to get such grades in such a horrible and pathetic test … Thats all …

    • I 100 %agreed with u…it was impossible to attempt paper in 2:30 hours…and also test was not of fsc level…so hope for the best…

  5. we have worked hard and all our 12 year struggle has perished within a minute what can we do and the paper was leaked because the students had written answers on the back side of their roll number slips and this shows that their arguments are fake and the paper was leaked on day before entry test.I demand and all those students demand who have worked hard just for the sake of their secured future demand that the seats should be increased or the merit should be decreased and strick action should be taken against this department because the are playing games against our future and against students lives.We all hope that you will consider this on sympathetic basis and fulfill our demands otherwise the educational system of Pakistan is not in safe hands ALLAH help us and save us from these cruel people

  7. So a professor of Physics from Star Academy uploaded the paper of Physics containing MCQS from MDCAT 2017 paper, few hours after test. His post got viral on Facebook within few hours, he deleted that post and said that he compiled those MCQS after asking among his 850+ students. Later he deleted this comment as well.
    My question is from students, from those who took MDCAT as well as from their seniors, have you looked at those MCQS? Those MCQS contain numericals, figures and graphs. How can anyone remember such complicated MCQ statements exactly like they were in paper? How can they exactly remember even figures? And even some students are saying that options of numericals are in same sequence and are similar as they were in MDCAT paper.
    According to sources, topper of MDCAT is from Star Acadmy who secured 1076 marks.
    Its time to wake up students. Talk to UHS and PMDC officials, file a case in court against UHS and Star Academy. Go for your rights.

  9. It is unfortunate that uhs plays with the lives and dreams of so many students sometimes by increasing the merit and sometimes decreasing it. Difficulty level of mcat should b same each year. Is it fair a candidate with agg 88 per cent was in lahore in 2015 and next yr was nowhere with the same agg. Isnt this disrespect to merit and hard work?

  10. In short paper was not solvable in assigned time. So It is unbelievable that somebody solved full paper and got good marks. It makes not doubtfull but clear that there is something wrong behind. All of us strongly condemn and protest against UHS.

Above comments absolutely have weight age and could not ignored for the sake of justice with MDCAT students; as students declared that the test was too tough and impossible to be solved within 2 & half hours. If majority of Star Academy students achieve maximum positions and highest marks in test as compared with other students; it would clearly indicate malpractices on the part that academy. The matter must be probed in by UHS / FIA and, if there would appear malpractices, action should be initiated and students be provided opportunity for fresh MDCAT immediatly for the sake of Justice equity and fairness.

    • You are absolutely right. Many of the students of Star axademy romurs papers was leaked before a night.

    • A big question mark. why all toppers are from star academy? some thing definitely went wrong. Simple solution. Arrange retest of first 50 toppers in a fair manner. if they maintained position, then entry test is OK other retest to give right to meritorious students

  20. This is not possible that all questions are same as in test….i mean impossible…… We don’t consider this entrance test so it is suggested to cancel this entrance test result….consider matrix n fsc result…..

  25. If many students from one academy score highest numbers than the accusation of that particular academy getting paper in advance in peove correct. It is needed that FIA should investigate the issue. Secondly UHS should retake the test so that all may bw treated fairly. It was impossible to solve numericals without calculator in the stipulated time. I such a situation home it is possible that one student correctly solves 97%of peper.

  31. How is it fair that the assiduous effort of 4 years of matric and FSc be compared with only three months preparation of entry test? How ridiculous! Candidates should be selected on basis of matric ang FSc marks. Such ambiguous entry test should not be included in aggregate.

    It is a suggestion for all students to plan a big protest in lahore in front of UHS and file case in court against UHS.

    *Mismanagement in centers
    *Leaked physics Paper before paper time
    *Wrong keys
    *unbalanced paper setting impossible to solve in 150 minutes
    *Lot of lengthy questions in Mcq test
    *full questions paper was got out after test.
    What is this rubbish management.
    Thousands of children went into depression even after securing excellent marks in previous exams

No doubt the the portion of physics was difficult because of lengthy and time consuming numerical,it should have a balance paper and students must be given some relief ,however as far as leaking of paper is concerned it is not true,the mafia against entry test has deliberately created this situation to create doubts,and frustration amongst the students Insha Allah they will not be succeed in their malign objectives.

  44. Brilliant initiative by UHS to bring the rattoo totays of different academic boards at an equal level of judgement i.e. by understanding of concepts. Inclusion of high school marks for aggregate is a very widespread wrong concept in Pakistan I dont know how it spread. Universities all round the world take tests which in many cases account for 90% of the merit weightage. This brings at par students of different backgrounds/countries etc. I encourage UHS and hope that someday entry test will have a weightage of 80% in the merit similar to leading universities like NUST, GIKI etc.

I also agree with all of u absolutely right…….it’s very unfair that the tst was not in a balance and impossible to complete ….that was too much difficult for fsc students…..they are not knowing that they are playing with many young lives and ambitions….a student who dreamed to become doctor from his childhood and worked extremely hard for that for12 13 years how he/she is feeling after such rubbish .now he/she is in a very big trouble in a terrible situation…..I think UHS should pay attention to all these comments and should take some solid steps to solve this issue properly and fairly…. there are so many doubts about entrance test which may or may not be true but UHS have to give clearance and held test again to avoid such doubts and for the betterment of future of Pakistan…..Students be brave and trust on Allah if u have worked hard u will certainly be awarded for that….May Allah bless u all people and fulfill ur dreams….u will be succeeded one day ….In sha Allah…Ameen
