Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony had constituted various monitoring teams for examining the services being provided to private and government Hajj scheme pilgrims, Monitoring Section Chief of Zameer Ahmed said here on Monday.
He said all the departments of the ministry had put their energies together to ensure provision of maximum facilities to pilgrims, a statement said. He said the monitoring of government scheme’s Hujjaj facilities had been started for the first time this year along with private pilgrims. He asked intending pilgrims to contact facilitators or sector commander for any help. Intending pilgrims could also register their complaints on toll free number 8001166622.
Monitoring teams had so far checked 395 Hajj group organisers and 87 buildings of government Hajj scheme in Makkah Mukarrama and Madina Munawwara. The surprise checking of monitoring teams had helped improving performance of the contractors and Hajj staff, he concluded.
As many as 133,868 intending pilgrims including 88,705 of government scheme have so far reached Makkah Mukarrama, Saudi Arabia, for performing Hajj, a spokesman of Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony said Monday. In a statement, he said 45,163 pilgrims of private Hajj scheme have so far reached Makkah Makarrama. Local and Pakistani facilitators were taking care of intending pilgrims. He said the 1,256 intending pilgrims’ lost luggages have been returned to them, while 18 intending pilgrims have been guided back to their residences.
Harram guides have helped 9,285 intending pilgrims in Harram Sharif. The ministry’s helpline has resolved the complaints of 446 pilgrims out of 623.
A total of 72,711 pilgrims were provided medical facilities by Pakistan Hajj medical mission. 16 patients have been admitted in hospital of the mission.
He said a total of 22 intending pilgrims have so far died natural death. The dead have been buried at Jannatul Baqi and Jannat-ul-Muallah.
