Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has said that people will not approve the contradiction in words and deeds of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

“If I kept on addressing rallies then he [Imran] will be reduced to tears,” he said while addressing a press conference here in this alpine-climate valley in Mansehra district of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said that the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) betrayed his party and did not follow the Charter of Democracy (CoD), signed by two former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto on May 14, 2006, in London, during PPP’s tenure.

He said that the present conflict was just for the empowerment of the Sharif family as there was no threat to the system. He said that a debate should be conducted in the assembly regarding PML-N’s role but said there could not be dialogue in the parliament.

Bilawal said that his party was still not stepping back from the Charter of Democracy, and asserted that the People’s Party would make the next government. He said that the upcoming elections would be held on time, and the parliament should complete its term.

He said that the response that the PPP received in its public meetings in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was rejection of the results of the 2013 elections. He pointed out that PPP was not given a level playing field during 2013 elections as the terrorists had threatened the party while PTI and Jamaat-e-Islami were allowed to hold public meetings.

A former chief justice also wanted to remove Asif Ali Zardari from the political scene, he said and expressed the confidence that PPP would form the next government.

He criticised Imran and said that he (Imran) talks against corruption, a former chief minister who was removed by the PPP on corruption charges was with the PTI leader. He said that people would not accept such contradictions in the stance of the PTI leader.

Asked about Imran’s plans to hold public meetings in Sindh, Bilawal said that the PTI leader was welcome to hold meeting and they pray for his success. Regarding the NA-120 by-election, he said that there was rift in the ruling party.

He said that during the PPP government, action was taken against the leadership on contempt of court. He said that there should be one law about contempt of court and those doing so should be held responsible.

Bilawal strongly condemned the murder of a PPP worker and said that he was killed by the Punjab police. He said that the mindset of the Punjab police was just like the mentality of Ziaul Haq, one of the former military rulers.
