ISLAMABAD: A one-day Symposium on CPEC with a theme “CPEC vis-à-vis Opportunities for Aviation Industry and Way Forward” was held under the auspices of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Royal Aeronautical Society, Islamabad Branch at Nur Khan Auditorium Air Headquarters, Islamabad.
Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, the chief of the Air Staff was the chief guest at the symposium. Senators, serving and retired bureaucrats, members of chambers of commerce and select academia notables from various institutions also attended the symposium.
CPEC Parliamentary Committee Chairman Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed and Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal were the keynote speakers at the event.
While delivering the closing address, the air chief said, “the CPEC is a project of great magnitude which will play a pivotal role in transforming the economic landscape of Pakistan, as indeed the region and beyond.
It is rightly called the game changer as it connects the neighbourhood of East and West Asia, making Pakistan both a conduit and destination for cross-regional investment and trade.
Six distinguished speakers from government, other non-governmental organisations and academia shared their views on CPEC and related aspects. The speakers included Hassan Daud – Project Director CPEC Ministry of Planning; Dr Nasir Afghan – Director MBA Program IBA Karachi; Air Vice Marshal Razi Nawab (retd) – Deputy Managing Director Shaheen Foundation; Air Commodore Abdul Moeed Khan – Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Plans); Syed Muzaffar Alam – CAA additional director air transport and Mr Amer Zafar Durrani – CEO Enhar.
