Zaka instructs navy officers to maintain constant vigilance

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah has urged field commanders to remain at the highest state of preparedness and maintain a constant vigilance in their area of responsibility.

He was addressing the Command and Staff Conference of the Pakistan Navy which concluded here at the Naval Headquarters. Matters related to operational preparedness, developmental plans of the Pakistan Navy and prevailing security situation were reviewed.

The detailed briefings on various ongoing and future navy projects and plans as well as operational activities and security aspects at Gwadar Port particularly with respect to the maritime components of the CPEC project were also given to the naval chief.

Making an overall appraisal of the prevalent security environment, Admiral Zaka expressed satisfaction over operational preparedness of the Pakistan Navy in the presence of prevalent maritime challenges. Expressing navy’s resolve to ensure seaward defence of vital maritime infrastructure and protection of Pakistan’s maritime interests, he reiterated navy’s resolve and determination to safeguard maritime frontiers at all costs.

He also reiterated that the Pakistan Navy would continue to play a significant role in sustenance of peace and stability in the Indian Ocean region in the context of complex, challenging and evolving contemporary security environment. The naval chief emphasised to conduct coastal security exercises regularly in coordination with other law enforcement agencies and organisations to acquire the highest degree of professionalism and interoperability.

Zakaullah also expressed satisfaction over operational preparedness of the Pakistan Navy in the face of prevalent challenges and lauded the morale and motivation of troops at all levels. The Command and Staff Conference is the apex decision-making body in which all principal staff officers and field commanders undertake strategic review of the navy’s policies and plans.
