Sethi confirms World XI tour

— PCB chairman says visiting team will have big names from all top cricketing nations

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi on Saturday reaffirmed his aim to restore international cricket in Pakistan by confirming that the World XI team is coming to the country next month.

Speaking during the development program ceremony held for Lahore Qalandars’ players in Lahore, Sethi said that the World XI team will have big names from all the top cricketing nations.

“World XI is coming to Pakistan and this is confirmed,” Sethi announced, “I have all the names, but will announce them in a day or two,” added the PCB chairman.

Najam Sethi added that World XI team will have all big names from all the top countries and it will open doors for international cricket in Pakistan. “All top players will come,” he said, adding “the world XI tour will be followed by a visit by Sri Lankan team.”

Sethi added that the PCB is planning to hold more matches of PSL’s third edition in Pakistan and these matches will be held at two venues, Karachi and Lahore.

“With sixth team adding to the bouquet of PSL, we will have an increased number of total matches in the tournament this time and will have more matches at home,” he said.

The chairman PCB also reasserted his zero-tolerance policy on corruption and discipline, saying that he will not tolerate any sort of code-of-conduct breach by the players. “No sympathies on the basis of talent, if a player is found guilty of wrong doing we’ll not tolerate any such thing,” he added.
