LAHORE: A man named Zohaib, who was seriously injured after a policeman allegedly pushed him off a road adjacent to an underpass, succumbed to his wounds on Saturday.
According to the family, Zohaib was travelling with his friends on Tuesday when a policeman allegedly stopped the car in Garden Town vicinity and demanded a bribe. Upon refusal, he pushed Zohaib off the road, seriously injuring him in the process.
The family of the deceased, who was then under treatment at Jinnah Hospital, made an appeal for justice to the Punjab chief minister and senior police officials.
“An investigation into the incident is under way,” Model Town Superintendent of Police (SP) Hunain Haider told media.
