Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has stressed the need to chalk out a comprehensive plan to further improve the service delivery of the railways.
Chairing a meeting on the affairs of Pakistan Railways in Islamabad, he said that the development of railways will contribute towards socio-economic development.
The prime minister directed for speedy implementation of the projects to improve infrastructure and services of Railways.
The railways’ minister briefed the prime minister on various initiatives taken during last four years which had resulted in significant improvement and performance of the organization.
The prime minister was also briefed on the up-gradation of ML-1 from Karachi to Peshawar to be executed under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi appreciated the overall improvement in terms of services as well as revenue generation.
Meanwhile, talking to members of National Assembly in Islamabad, the prime minister urged parliamentarians to work earnestly towards addressing the issues of common man.
The MNAs discussed matters pertaining to development work and public welfare schemes in their respective constituencies with the prime minister.
The MNAs who called on prime minister include Shezra Mansab Ali Khan, Mian Tariq Mehmood, Sardar Muhammad Shafqat Hayat Khan and Mohammad Raza Hayat Harraj.
