How often has it happened that you got to a store after working hours or on a holiday, and found it closed? Gone are the days when shopping plans were put off to another day because of store timings or other constraints. An emerging e-commerce venture is changing the dynamics of shopping by bringing several local stores online in your vicinity.
A campaign dubbed “Shutterband” (closed shutters) has recently been spearheaded by Goto.com.pk that involves placing a unique message “Closed here! But still open at Goto.com.pk” on the shutters of various stores in Karachi. As it appears from the message itself, the campaign aims to empower shop owners to continue their business activities beyond the usual working hours.
The purpose of this campaign is to give out a clear message to consumers that while the shop they buy from is closed because of market timings, it can still be easily reached at an online platform and take orders from its customers all the same.
Prior to this campaign, most online shoppers had no means of discovering if the shop they buy from had a digital presence or not. This campaign helps shop owners easily communicate their digital presence to shoppers at large and facilitate consumers and shop owners alike in continuing to do business at any time of the day or place.
According to the Sr. Marketing Manager of Goto, Shamail Wasi, “this initiative is part of our larger strategy to revolutionize the e-commerce industry of Pakistan.” He explained that “we strive to facilitate as many consumers as we can to not be bound by their busy schedule anymore.”
Another major part of the campaign is to enable shop owners expand their business across Pakistan without incurring any additional cost of expansion or promotion.
“This is also a great opportunity for shop owners to increase their sales as well as their reach, and they don’t need to spend extra investment to promote or expand their business.” added Wasi.
