Health minister pays surprise visits to hospitals

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Primary & Secondary Health Khawaja Imran Nazir, has started visiting different hospitals situated in the Sargodha division to check the healthcare facilities being provided to the patients as well as to monitor the arrangements of Health Khidmat Week being celebrated in the province. The Minister inspected THQ Hospitals Kot Momin and Bhalwal, besides inspecting rural health centres of Laliyani and Tehsil Kot Momin on Thursday; he reviewed the arrangements of Khadim-e-Punjab Health Khidmat Week there.

The Minister appreciated the hospitals’ administration for making best arrangements with regard to the Health Khidmat Week. Various patients turning up for blood screening tests thanked the government, especially the Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, for arranging the screening of nine different diseases and inspection of pregnant women under one roof and added that various healthcare facilities have been provided to the patients at their doorsteps. They said that expenses of so many blood tests were beyond the reach of the common people and the government has won the hearts of poor patients by providing this facility free of cost to them.

Imran Nazir directed to install more fans, keeping in view the increased number of patients. He announced to visit Mianwali as well to review the quality of healthcare facilities available there. He further said that Primary Health Secretary Ali Jan Khan and other officers are also in the field and the provision of healthcare facilities is being monitored continuously at different levels.
