ISLAMABAD: Declaring organisations or groups supporting freedom struggle in India Occupied Kashmir as terrorist outfits is unjustifiable, stated Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria during his weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday.
The spokesperson said Pakistan is disappointed with the decision of the United States to designate Hizbul Mujahideen as a terrorist outfit.
He said the whole world stands witness to the unlawful occupation of Kashmir by Indian forces and inhuman treatment faced by Kashmiris as a result.
He said it is India, which is to be held responsible for the continuous bloodshed in the held valley.
The spokesman said killing and illegal detentions of Kashmiri youth and Hurriyet leaders, rape of women and other atrocities meted out by Indian forces in the IoK should immediately be ended and a negotiated solution must be sought for the problem.
Responding to a question regarding Indian prime minister’s statement Nafees Zakaria said the statement endorses Pakistan’s stance that bloodshed will only aggravate the situation in Kashmir.
He reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to continue its moral, diplomatic and political support to Kashmiris’ struggle for their just right to self-determination.
