BADIN: A large number of people, hailing from different towns and cities of district Badin, on Thursday, held a demonstration against NGO Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) against its malpractices and injustice with the local youth in the employment process and at the village level.
A rally was taken out from Allah Wala Chowk and concluded at Badin Press Club which was being led by Raza Shah, Usman Mallah, Siddique Gopang, Mithan Jamali and others.
The protestors were carrying placards and banners inscribed with different slogans against the NGO.
On the occasion, while addressing the protesters, the youth representatives maintained that the NGO received a huge funding for the development of the district from the Europe Union and Sindh government, but the NGO allegedly ignored the youth of Badin in its recruitment process, which they termed as an injustice with the locals.
The speakers at the rally alleged that the project was launched four months ago but people of Badin, especially youths, were completely ignored; the NGO was working without any project office in the locality as all activities were being carried out from the NRSP office without any transparency.
They alleged that for the staffers’ mobility, despite a presence of local vendors, vehicles were hired from outside vendors, ignoring the local people of district Badin.
The protestors appealed to the chairman of the Badin district council, deputy commissioner and other political representatives of the district to take a notice of this grave injustice and added that they will keep on protesting till their demands are met.
