Warner retires hurt after getting hit on the neck

DARWIN: Leading up to the tour of Bangladesh, Australia played an inter squad pre-tour practice match between Steve Smith XI and David Warner XI. Australian opener and wise captain David Warner suffered a blow to the neck when he got hit by a Josh Hazlewood bouncer in the three day game.
Warner was reportedly jolted by the hit to his neck, but was quickly back on his feet. Smith checked on his national-side deputy before the latter walked off the field. Warner had been dismissed for four in the first innings and had batted 14 balls in the second, before missing his attempted hook shot and getting hit – cutting short his bid to get some game time before he gets on the flight to Bangladesh.
If Warner is lucky and there is no major injury,  he can still get some practice in the two day warm up game to be played in Fatullah on August 22, 5 days before the Test against Bangladesh is scheduled to begin.
