A delegation of Pakistani students would leave for Malaysia on August 19 to participate in Asian Science Camp (ASC-2017).

The camp will be held from August 20 to August 27 at University of Tunku, Abdul Rehman (Kampar Campus), Malaysia, an official of Pakistan Science Foundation said.

Asian Science Camp is a one week student event held annually in any country of Asia which attracts thousands of young scientists aged 16-21 from 48 participating countries.

Asian Science Camp 2017 (ASC 2017) is the eleventh of the series.

Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) sponsored participation of Pakistani young scientists with an objective to give them a greater insight into science and its application for the benefit of mankind through participation in ASC activities, including lectures/demonstrations from leading scientists, visits to industrial sites, research centres, scientific institutions/organisations, world class laboratories and universities.

The students will share their ideas and projects with fellow students around the world and eminent scientists/Nobel laureates.

The students having a date of birth between January 23, 1995, to February 6, 2001, and have completed their HSSC/equivalent education with 1st Division were eligible to apply for the ASC.

Prescribed application form was available at PSF website (www.psf.gov.pk).

Short-listed students, after an initial screening on the basis of educational qualifications/age, were called for written test, interview/presentation in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta and Peshawar as per their convenience.
