LAHORE: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday scrutinised nomination papers of another 29 candidates for NA-120 by-election, being held on September 17.
According to a spokesperson from the ECP, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) candidate Kalsoom Nawaz and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) candidate Yasmin Rashid have been issued notices for tomorrow for the scrutiny of their nomination papers.
Nomination papers of Javed Yousaf, Muhammad Husnain, Jamil Asghar, Muhammad Munsif Malik, Muhammad Yaqoob Shaikh, Khalid Naik, Saifullah, Muhammad Khurram, Laiq-ur-Rehman, Muhammad Zubair Khan Niazi, Sardar Hur Bukhari, Nasir Saleem, Zikrullah Mujahid, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Rana Zahid Hussain, Muhammad Ajasim Sharif, Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Waseem, Muhammad Hadi Shah, Zia-ud-Din Ansari, Pervaiz Akhtar, Qaiser Mahmood, Sumera Ali, Ameer Bahadur Khan, Mian Aziz-ur-Rehman Chan, Sarfaraz, Ysir Islam Shaikh, Liaqat Abbas and Ruhi Bano Khokhar were scrutinised on Wednesday, while papers of Kalsoom Nawaz, Yasmin Rashid, Andleeb Abbas, Zubair Qadir, Faisal Mir and Muhammad Nauman will be checked tomorrow (Aug 17).
Candidates can appeal against the rejection of their nomination papers till August 21, and withdraw their papers by August 25.
The ECP will issue the final list of candidates on August 26.
