CM visits kidney centre in Multan

Also inspected a hospital and school in Muzaffargarh

MULTAN: Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif visited the Multan Kidney Centre on Wednesday during his two-day visit to Multan and directed hospital administration to provide 100 per cent free medicines to all patients.

While talking to a seminar held at Multan Kidney Centre, CM said that the formal inauguration of Institute of Kidney would be made within the next 3 months.

Our commitment is to provide best medical facilities to common people, he added.

Free medical treatment, along with comfortable environment will be given to all patients in the kidney centre, he held.

He said that more than 40 dialysis machines have been installed in the hospital which are functional and patients are benefiting from without any fee.

He claimed that his government will provide abundant health facilities across Pakistan, especially southern Punjab, as their party is committed to serving the nation.

CM also obtained information from patients regarding health facilities during his visit to the hospital and also addressed their problems.

While expressing displeasure over complaints from patients for non-provision of free medicines, CM said that 100 per cent free medicines should be provided to all patients, adding that the hospital administration should reimburse patients who purchased their medicines from outside the hospital.

Citizens also demonstrated protest for non-provision of medical facilities in the kidney centre on the occasion.

Later, Shehbaz Sharif went to the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital, Muzaffargarh, and inspected extension project of the facility. He reviewed the progress of construction work and expressed his satisfaction. He said that with the completion of this project, the number of beds will be increased to 250 in the hospital. Completion of extension project will result in the availability of quality and modern medical facilities to the people of the south Punjab, he added. He said that the hospital is providing modern facilities of treatment to the masses of the area. He directed that the construction work of the hospital be completed with speed and quality.

The chief minister also went to Emine Erdogan Danish Care Girls School in Baseera Town Muzaffargarh. He went to every classroom and talked to the girl students. He explained the philosophy of Quaid-e-Azam with the help of verses of Allama Iqbal. He also gave autographs to the children and wrote his words of wisdom.

Speaking on the occasion, Shehbaz Sharif said that Quaid-e-Azam had made one Pakistan for all. Unfortunately, Pakistan of the rich and of the poor has become separate and we are determined to remove this disparity. He advised the girls to work hard, with honesty and commitment.

He also said that this school is a living symbol of Pak-Turk friendship. He said that people of Pakistan have a great love for President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Pakistani nation acknowledges his public services. He said that Turkey has supported Pakistan in every difficult time including natural disasters. He said that the new journey of Pak-Turk relations has started during the tenure of PML-N and these institutions are shining examples of the increasing Pak-Turk friendship.
