KARACHI: An accountability court in Karachi on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of Rs 462 billion corruption case against former Petroleum Minister Dr Asim till August 19.

Dr Asim’s counsel informed the court that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has not provided the documents according to the index.

He asked the court that NAB should provide proper documents to them and to the court as well.

He said that the documents provided by proponent of NAB Muhammad Akram, was not given earlier. He requested the court that due time may be given to reviewing those documents.

Separately, Dr Asim, while talking to media outside the court, said that the NAB ordinance has become dysfunctional in the province and no decision could be taken against him on the basis of that ordinance.

In response to a question, he said that the centre is friendly towards the Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) so enough would be reserved for it during the budget.
