Two members of banned outfit killed in CTD operation

KARACHI: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) killed two alleged members of a banned organisation in an encounter in Karachi’s Mangophir vicinity.

The suspected terrorists belonged to the banned group, Ansar ul-Sharia Pakistan which conducted an attack on a DSP in Azizabad and was planning to carry out several such attacks on places of worship and the police force, according to the SSP Omar Shahid.

He also said that they expect to receive a detailed forensic report of the weapons recovered by Tuesday afternoon.

He further added that the CTD conducted a raid on a seminary operated by terrorist mastermind Mufti Shakir on Saturday but terrorists managed to escape the scene and couldn’t be arrested.
