Zakir Husain, 42, Usama, 20, and Amin, 22, Dua Fatima, 16, and Hamna Imran, 14, all succumbed to death after drowning in the Hawkesbay Beach in Karachi on Monday.
According to the City SSP Adeel Hussain Chandio, the two teenaged girls drowned initially, whereas their father Zakir and the other two people drowned in a failed attempt to rescue the girls.
The dead bodies have reportedly been retrieved and sent to the Civil Hospital Karachi for legal formalities.
The provincial government recently put a ban on swimming in the area, however, according to the police, it is absolutely impossible for them to control the massive number of people that turn out on beaches during holidays.
