Ryan Reynolds is mourning the loss of the female stunt driver who died tragically on the set of Deadpool 2 on Monday morning.
After news broke that the woman died after she lost control of her bike during a motorcycle stunt in Vancouver, Canada, the 40-year-old actor took to Twitter to express his condolences.
“Today, we tragically lost a member of our crew while filming Deadpool. We are heartbroken, shocked and devastated… but recognise nothing can come close to the grief and inexplicable pain her family and loved ones must film in this moment. My heart pours out to them — along with each and every person she touched in this world.”
This is the second stunt-related on-set death in North America in just over a month. The fatality on the Fox film saw production shut down immediately, with no indication yet when work on the sequel will resume.
The tragedy in Vancouver saw a woman on a motorbike ‘soar through the air’ before hitting a glass window and dying.
Local law enforcement, the British Columbia Coroner’s Service and WorkSafeBC, the Canadian province’s version of the U.S.’ Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating what happened to the experienced road racer on this morning.
The accident remains under investigation.
