- ‘I have full faith in constitution’
Member of National Assembly Ayesha Gulalai has asked Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to explain why he does not trust Pakistan’s constitution.
In a video message, she said that Imran gives examples of the British but has failed to mentally free himself from their servitude. “He (Imran) shouldn’t lead the youth into mentally serving the British,” she said.
With regard to the formation of a parliamentary committee to probe her allegations, Gulalai said that Imran first welcomed the committee but then backtracked. “He (Imran) has now demanded a commission akin to those in Britain,” she argued.
She said that Britain has its own traditions, culture and that decisions taken in Pakistan would be as per the constitution. “I, alongside fellow Pakistanis, have full faith in the constitution,” she said. “Imran says he will deliberate before giving election tickets to women,” she said.
She also said that Imran shouldn’t give tickets to decent and educated people in the future as they can be dangerous to him. In a statement, Gulalai wished the country on its Independence Day. She said that a sacrifice by two million Muslims led to freedom from British rule in 1947.
