Shariah Academy to hold moot on ‘Rights of the Child in Islam’

ISLAMABAD: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) Shariah Academy will hold a two-day international conference on “Rights of the Child in Islam”, from August 15 to 17.

The Shariah Academy is holding this conference in collaboration with United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) Pakistan, which will be focused to discuss, and recommend, future policy developments for the strengthened realization of these in Muslim-majority states.

Child rights experts and academicians, child rights activists, judges, lawyers and law enforcement officials, journalists and religious scholars will discuss the obligations of the parents, individuals and the state to protect the rights of the children. Rights of the child within the family and other perspectives of the topic will be discussed, said a press release Monday.
