Pakistanis on Monday remembered the country’s 70th anniversary and celebrated the occasion with immense passion and enormous enthusiasm.
President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Khaqan Abbasi, along with China Vice Premier Wang Yang, attended a flag hoisting ceremony at Jinnah Convention Centre. Several government officials participated in various ceremonies at symbolic monuments across the country.
Pakistan Air Force put on two air shows in the country, one in Islamabad, where visiting aerobatic teams from Turkey and Saudi Arabia joined in the display and the second was held at Karachi’s Seaview beach. People, who showed up to witness the massive and spectacular air shows, chanted countless nationalistic slogans.
Pakistanis celebrated the occasion with fireworks, face-painting, patriotic dresses and much more.
