PTI, AML to hold power show at Liaquat Bagh today

 

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Awami Muslim League (AML) will hold historic Jalsa at Liaquat Bagh Rawalpindi today (Sunday).

PTI which has earlier decided to organise a public meeting at Mareer Chowk in connection with the 70th Independence Day of Pakistan has changed the venue of the event according to which the party would now hold this programme at Liaquat Bagh to be addressed by Imran Khan.

On the other hand Awami Muslim League (AML) leader Sheikh Rashid Ahmed would also hold Jalsa at Liaquat Bagh. Sheikh Rashid had expressed his consent to hold joint public meeting of the two parties at Liaquat Bagh and asked Imran Khan to address the people on August 13 at Liaquat Bagh which was accepted by the latter.

On the other hand, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will also hold Jalsa at Rawalpindi. Central leader of the party Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari and former Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira would address the Jalsa.

Imran Khan would be visiting Rawalpindi after six years. The last one was in 2011 where he addressed at Liaquat Bagh.
