RCCI organises achievement awards ceremony in Istanbul

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has organised its 30th International Achievement Award ceremony at Hilton Hotel Istanbul, Turkey.

More than 1000 business delegates which also included 450 Turkish elite representing different sectors, including manufacturing, engineering, construction, energy, pharmaceutical, poultry, and textile, etc, participated in the ceremony.

Turkish Economy Minister Fatih Metin, Istanbul office mayor, representatives from Turkish Chamber of Commerce, local trade associations, RCCI President Raja Amer Iqbal,  Senior vice President Rashid Waien, Vice President Asim Malik, group leaders, former presidents, International Awards Committee Chairman Saqib Rafiq, members of the executive committee and a large number of traders participated in the event.

Addressing a large gathering at the business opportunity conference on the sidelines of the event, Fatih Metin lauded the RCCI efforts in promoting the bilateral ties and promoting business activities between the two countries.

He promised to bring a business delegation to Pakistan in near future. He said that Pakistan and Turkey have close and friendly relations.

He informed the audience that participation of companies like Tumsaid, Mosaid, ASKON, DEIK, etc, reflects the seriousness of Turkish business community towards increasing bilateral trade ties.

While addressing the participants, Raja Amer Iqbal said that Rawalpindi Chamber is the first chamber to arrange such awards ceremony in the history of the country.

He said that the basic purpose behind organising International awards ceremony was to improve the bilateral trade and to promote a soft image of Pakistan. This initiative was taken to promote a healthy competition and to improve the trade activities.

Saqib Rafiq said that RCCI is aiming to promote private sector and to strengthen the business ties and confidence of Pakistani businessmen.

He said that the major aim for organising B2B meetings on the sidelines of the ceremony was to have joint ventures in future.

More than 600 delegates from Pakistan attended the ceremony and companies’ heads from different sectors, including pharmaceutical, marble, gems and jewellery, poultry, information technology and auto mobile, participated in the event. This reflects the seriousness of business community, he added.

Later, awards were distributed among the companies in different categories.
