Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaqat Baloch has said if the ousted prime minister continued committing contempt of court in his rallies and on roads and challenged the verdicts of the judiciary, the situation would lead towards destruction.
Talking to newsmen in the city on Friday, he said that Nawaz Sharif looked isolated in his stance and even his own party after his disqualification and the former Interior minister Nisar Ali Khan had expressed the viewpoint of the PML-N senior leadership on the issue. He said that Nawaz Sharif’s stance seemed to be axing one’s own feet. He said that it had been clear from the start of Nawaz Sharif’s journey from Islamabad to Lahore that the PML-N won’t bear his burden any more.
He said the JI wanted the accountability of all those involved in Panama leaks, Dubai leaks, and those having palaces and posh houses abroad.
He said if the former Prime Minister differed with the judgment of the five member bench of the Supreme Court, he should appeal for a review. He however said that the Nawaz Sharif’s family members had yet to face the NAB references.
‘THIEVES OUT TO ABOLISH ARTICLES 62, 63’
JI Deputy Chief Hafiz Muhammad Idrees has said that the ruling elite had joined hands against the spirit of the constitution and all the thieves were out to abolish Articles 62 and 63.
Addressing a big Friday congregation at Mansoora Mosque, he said that for the first time in the last seventy years, a member of the elite class had been tried under the constitution and all of them were crying hoarse and cursing the judiciary.
He said that the 200 million people of the country had welcomed the Panama case judgment which gave the message that the law for the masses and the elite was the same.
Hafiz Muhammad Idrees said that the affairs of the state could run smoothly only if the supremacy of the constitution and the law was established. A system in which there were separate laws for the common man and the elite was based on tyranny and could not last long, he added.
He said that Pakistan had been established after unparalleled sacrifices but the incompetent and corrupt rulers had turned the country into a land of problems. He urged the masses not to remain silent spectators in the present situation and said that every citizen should come forward to play his role so that the country could be built according to the vision of Allama Iqbal and the Quaid e Azam.
