‘Nawaz’s disqualification improved country’s image abroad’

— How can the Sharif brothers talk about revolution after they failed to do anything for 25 years, asks Pervaiz Elahi

Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Leader Ch Pervaiz Elahi said on Saturday that due to the Supreme Court’s verdict, Nawaz Sharif earned himself a bad name, while the image of Pakistan had improved internationally.

Talking to media he said that Nawaz Sharif has been crushing the poor, even in his car rally, and talked poorly to the everywhere. “The tenure is of the assembly not just of the prime minister, as it says in the Constitution, he wants people to come out against the Supreme Court and the army but people listen to the call of a thief and a disqualified prime minister,” he said

“Nawaz Sharif repeatedly says that he has not been allowed to complete his tenure, whereas this is the third assembly which is going to complete its tenure as given in the Constitution and even after his disqualification his party is in the government,” Elahi said.

He added that Nawaz was misstating, “Supreme Court (SC), as well as two learned judges had termed him dishonest and corrupt; and three judges along with earlier two judges gave a unanimous verdict of his disqualification,” he said.

Elahi further said that after his corruption surfaced in the SC, Nawaz is being defamed and is being laughed on all over the world, whereas the image and prestige of Pakistan have improved. “Different foreign ambassadors, while talking to me in Islamabad, termed this verdict as historical, Allah had given three chances to Nawaz Sharif but he failed all the three times,” he added.

He said that trade deficit and loans of the country are at record level, adding that Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif have been in power for a total of 25 years, but they have failed to do anything for the people, now he is again talking about revolution after disqualification when he could not bring a revolution in 25 years. “In Nawaz Sharif’s own constituency, the 450-bed emergency block that I established has not been made functional due to their inefficiency,” he said.

Elahi said that Nawaz Sharif used to say about Yousuf Raza Gilani that there is no jungle law, now he wants to bring the law of jungle by gathering patwaris, tehsildars, government servants in his rally; no protest is done unless there is a problem to protest for.
