MULTAN: Doctors were only seen performing their duties in the emergency wards of hospitals in the city as the Young Doctors’ Association (YDA) strike enters day 11.

According to reports, hospital wards are predominated by senior doctors, and patients continue to suffer as most of the young doctors remain absent even on the eleventh day.

The current YDA strike is affecting the whole of Punjab, especially Multan, Faisalabad, Rahim Yar Khan and Gujranwala. However, in some areas, doctors are only observing a partial strike.

The health department has taken action against the doctors on strike by removing most of them and hiring new doctors in their place. However, matters in hospitals have still not come back to normal.
