Nisar rubbishes rumours over his absence from Nawaz’s rally

–Nisar says health was not the reason

Former Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan, on Thursday, dismissed the rumours circulating in media regarding his absence from the rally, saying that “when 99 per cent of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership was absent from the rally then why I was being singled out for my absence”.

In a statement released by Chaudhry Nisar’s spokesperson, the former interior minister was quoted as criticising a section of the media for “running baseless news throughout the day”.

“I said that I will drive Nawaz Sharif’s car till Lahore, but some media houses have been running this baseless news on repeat,” he complained.

Asking media for a responsible reporting, he said that he had never attributed his absence from the rally to a backache or health.

Mainstream media is a home to speculation regarding Nisar’s politicial future following his ‘sensational’ press conference and his absence from the party meetings to discuss the party strategy following Nawaz’s ouster.

Nisar later explained that he had adopted a contrary position on some important matters in the PML-N’s internal meetings, after which he was excluded from the consultative process.
